“After years of rising supply expense the Conemaugh Health System realized a rapid and significant reduction within just a few months of SSCM5’s application of their programs. For the first time in years our supply cost per adjusted discharge was reduced. So-called stretch targets are being achieved with a very positive budget impact. More importantly a fundamental change in culture relative to supply chain has been taking place. The entire organization is adopting the mantra that poor supply costs are not a problem, but rather a symptom of bad processes.
